Week 52 closes the year with long horizons and steady engines across multiple waterways. Captain Mony led a memorable private hire cruise bound for Battambang, guiding the boat upriver with his usual quiet confidence and deep knowledge of every bend and sandbar. The journey unfolded at a gentle pace—river villages at dawn, fishermen casting their nets, and sunsets stretching across the river as the engines eased back.

If you ever have the chance to do this cruise , DO IT as the memory will linger on for the rest of your life.

At the same time, our Phnom Penh to Siem Reap cruise was underway, tracing the great artery of the Tonlé Sap system. Days of open water, changing light, and timeless river scenes reminded everyone aboard why this journey is considered one of Cambodia’s great river passages.

Closer to home, the Kompong Khleang cruise continued to offer an intimate glimpse into life on the lake, with stilted houses, floating communities, and the quiet daily rhythms that define Tonlé Sap. Along all routes, the other cruisers shared the waterways—friendly waves exchanged, radios alive with check-ins, and a sense of a small fleet moving together.

The Christmas coconut tree the staff constructed was taken down and the coconuts where handed out to the floating village folks along the way to Siem Reap.

A fitting close to the year: skilled captains, trusted crews, smooth passages, and guests carried safely across Cambodia’s rivers and lake. Week 52 ends with gratitude—for Captain Mony’s leadership, for our fellow cruisers, and for the river itself as we turn toward a new year ahead.
