At Tara Riverboats, our team isn’t just a group of employees—they are a family. Comprising talented local men and women born and raised in the very villages you will visit, our crew offers a deep, authentic insight into the daily rhythms of life on the water.

Our Story: From a Sunken Relic to a Fleet of Eight

Twenty-five years ago, our founder, Peter John, was on holiday when he discovered an old, semi-sunken riverboat in the floating villages. Captivated by the beauty of the area, he decided to give the “old girl” a new lease on life.

With the help of 15 local villagers and 16 weeks of grueling work, the Tara Boat was re-floated and ready for service. What began as a passion project with a single boat has grown into a fleet of eight vessels and a dedicated team of over 67 full-time staff.

When we aren’t hosting guests, we’re busy cleaning the Tonle Sap lake and its surrounding rivers. We believe recycling is far better than landfill. We collect discarded car and bike tires and upcycle them into unique tables and chairs—some of which you’ll find right here on our boats!

What a great guy, He has been a boat builder with Tara team for 10 years , He loves fishing and helps our boat staff serving great ice cold Beers and Cocktails on our Sunset Special tours.

She is fantastic young lady , Great cook and talented dancer ,She is always a pleasure to meet with her and She makes a mean coffee also.

She comes from well respected family and She is the daughter of the village chief , she is a great cook and when she is not cooking makes lovely handicrafts , She is very talented young lady.

she is a very valuable member, She works on the Queen Tara riverboat and in her spare time , loves to swim around the boat , She is also a great cook , and keen to learn new skills.

She is a great cook and always smiling , Always keen to help and first to learn new skills , She is engaged to our Mini van driver maybe another wedding soon on Queen Tara.

Born to be a boat Captain , He comes from a long line of expert captains and lives in the floating village , He is the captain of our patrol boat river ( P.B.R ) and knows the river and lake systems like no one else.

She is very hard working and wife of one of our boat builders, She ensure’s the Queen tara is spotlessly clean and looksafter our younger staff.

A young lady and awesome cook,She loves to sing whilst cookling and is also another multi talented member of our staff.
