I would like to introduce some of our hard working wonderful team, they are all full time employees, they are truly talented local men and women, coming together to be part of our Tara Riverboat family, They were born and raised in the very same villages you will visit, giving an awesome in-sight into how the locals go about their daily lives, i started the Tara boat company some 20 years ago, when on holidays I went out to the floating villages and discovered an old semi sank riverboat, so impressed by the floating villages I decided to re-float the old girl (Tara Boat) and give her a new lease on life, some 15 local men and women from the floating villages and 16 weeks of hard work, the Tara riverboat was again ready for service, what started with just one boat has now grown to some 8 boats and over 67 staff, All our Staff where either born in the floating villages, Kompong Phluk, we have staff born in Kompong Khleang and also Prek toal, so as you can see, they are from the same villages you will visit, giving our guests an adventure and discovery cruise tour of the many floating villages and lakes/rivers Cambodia has to offer, our priorities are:

Seeing our staff grow and knit together over the years has been a traffic experience, i love to reflex back to those early days, i consider our team more of a family, Cambodian folks are the kindest people i have ever found, an absolute pleasure. Name : Seang Sophon

What a guy , a true gentleman, Mr Sophon has been part of the Tara family for over 10 years, Fully committed team player he’s passions are football, A local man with a young family.

Name : Lekhena Chamruen

Lekhena is also a great photographer, She is a hard working local lady and She can speak Khmer and English, She has been with our team for over 5 years , She is a proud mother of a young family.

He is always happy and cheerful , been with Tara team for 10 years plus , Excellent customer service and knowledgeable about the villages and people, He is the top guy.

Name : Sopheak Sin

He is a great guide and also makes a mean cocktail , very knowledgeable of the floating villages and long term Tara team player.

He is a great guide and always happy, He is also a bird expert and loves nature and wildlife , he is a local guy.

Such a lovely young man , Always happy and helpful to our guests, He is hard working,loyal and always first to help other people’,true delight to work with. He is also has a small free school near the lake.

Sambo is a very hard working local lady multi skilled and ensures all runs well on a day to day basis, She has been part of our team for over 5 years and She can speak Khmer and English.

Name : Touch Hong (A.K.A Mab)

He is very pleasant young man , Always a pleasure to be with Mab and he’s customer service is second to none-been with Tara for 7 years.

Name : Sot (A.K.A Old man)

What a great guy, He has been a boat builder with Tara team for 10 years , He loves fishing and helps our boat staff serving great ice cold Beers and Cocktails on our Sunset Special tours.

Name : Orn Khleng (A.K.A Kem)

He is a great guide and also makes a mean cocktail , very knowledgeable of the floating villages and long term Tara team player.

Name : Bet Sambat

She is fantastic young lady , Great cook and talented dancer ,She is always a pleasure to meet with her and She makes a mean coffee also.

Name : Tuy Phara

She comes from well respected family and She is the daughter of the village chief , she is a great cook and when she is not cooking makes lovely handicrafts , She is very talented young lady.

Name : Seoun Keosor

she is a very valuable member, She works on the Queen Tara riverboat and in her spare time , loves to swim around the boat , She is also a great cook , and keen to learn new skills.

Name : Meas Champey

She is a great cook and always smiling , Always keen to help and first to learn new skills , She is engaged to our Mini van driver maybe another wedding soon on Queen Tara.

Name : Touch Soung

Born to be a boat Captain , He comes from a long line of expert captains and lives in the floating village , He is the captain of our patrol boat river ( P.B.R ) and knows the river and lake systems like no one else.

Name : Mrs Sam Arn

She is very hard working and wife of one of our boat builders, She ensure’s the Queen tara is spotlessly clean and looksafter our younger staff.

Name : Leang Seila

A young lady and awesome cook,She loves to sing whilst cookling and is also another multi talented member of our staff.

Name : Mr Cham Reoun

He is a great boat builder , He is smart and very talented , Also a great community man and very well respected, his wife also works on the Queen Tara.
