It has been a blistering week here in Cambodia, but out on the Tonle Sap and the river network, we’ve found the best seat in the house. When the temperatures climb this high, there is no better place to be than on the water, where the breeze provides the perfect relief.
A Busy Week on the Water
Week 16 has been a balancing act of logistics and scenery. We have had a non-stop rotation of operations across the fleet:
Prek Toal Bird Sanctuary: We ran a series of cruises through the sanctuary. It’s always a privilege to show our guests this incredible ecosystem, especially when the wildlife is active.
Battambang Run: We pushed up to Battambang this week, navigating the winding waterways and showcasing the unique beauty of the route.
The Phnom Penh Connection: We successfully completed four of our signature cruise-and-land tours between Siem Reap and Phnom Penh. These long-haul journeys are a major undertaking, but they remain the best way to see the transition from the lake to the capital.
Behind the Scenes
While the tours have been keeping us busy, the work doesn’t stop when we dock. Our team has been firing on all cylinders to ensure every vessel is running at peak performance.
I’ve also been busy behind the lens lately. We are currently deep into the annual maintenance and restoration of the Queen Tara. I’ve been documenting the process for a new YouTube series, giving you an inside look at what it takes to keep a 22-meter vessel in top condition.
The maintenance cycle isn’t limited to the river, either. Our green-branded buggy fleet has been receiving some upgrades to our greasing and torque protocols, ensuring that when you head out on an overland adventure with us, everything is in perfect working order.
Join Us on the River
If you are looking to escape the heat and see Cambodia from a perspective most travelers miss, come join us on the water. Whether you are looking for a day trip to the sanctuary or the full cruise experience to Phnom Penh, we’re ready to welcome you aboard.
Captain’s Tip: Don’t forget to check out our new guest feedback keyrings next time you’re on board. We love hearing about your experience, and it helps us keep our service at the level you expect.
See you on the water,
The Captain
