Enter a world time has forgotten, accessible only by boats with no roads, the Floating Villages and fishing villages are located less than 15km from Siem Reap. It is the perfect place to visit on the Tonle Sap Lake as its the closest fishing village to Siem Reap and is also a large floating village, actually its 2 villages in one as our guide will point out on route.
The Queen Tara River Boat Half Day cruise will begin at 9am when we pick you up from your hotel or Guesthouse in an air-conditioned vehicle or tuk tuk. Our friendly and knowledgeable tour guides speak English (and Khmer of course) they are a source of great insight as to how the floating villages work as mostly, they were either born in the floating villages or very close by, and they will ensure that you enjoy your cruise and tour, pointing out areas of local interest along the way and answering any questions you may have. It takes about 10 minutes to reach the port and our traditional long tail riverboats. On route to the Queen Tara Boat, we will have an opportunity to stop and visit the Lotus silk Farm take some photo of the lotus flowers (seasonal) and learn the importance of this plant to the Cambodian people and which are a deeply important flower in Buddhism. Upon arrival at the port, you will exit the vehicle and board one of our long tails traditional type riverboats. these riverboats will be driven by an experienced and safe local driver and life jackets and toilets are available on all the vessels we operate for your safety and comfort.
Once on the water we will stop at the floating Crocodile & Fish Farm to learn about some of the trades people on the lake work in. If catfish or crocodiles don’t interest you, there is a souvenir shop and a viewing deck on board for you to purchase some presents for loved ones or take a few photos.
